Antique Sword Model 1877. Dated in 1896. Spain + Scabbard

Antique sword or saber for infantry officer model 1877, made in Spain and dated in 1896. This amazing weapon is more than 140 years old and has survived to our days in quite good condition. It comes with its original steel scabbard; both pieces make up an attractive and authentic set. The swords blade bears the engraved mark FABA. DE TOLEDO 1896 (Factory of Toledo 1896), still perfectly legible. The hilt is composed of a leather-wrapped wooden grip secured with the original twisted wire. Both the leather and the wire are in quite fine condition. It mounts a stylish and simple steel D-guard. The steel scabbard bears no engraved decorations at all and is greatly preserved, showing no traces of rust or wear and with the original ring intended to hang the sword from the owners uniform.
