Antique Saber for Cavalry Officer Model 1882. France

Attractive saber for cavalry officer model 1882, made in France and in fine condition. The weapon does not preserve its original length the blade was cut, probably to improve the sabers transport and use. Even so, the steel blade remains in great condition and the piece keeps a balanced design with a high decorative power. The hilt includes a brass D-guard with three curves branches and solid-wooden grip with hand-carved grooves. The brass pommel is decorated with a hand-engraved flowery band, a subtle and fine detail that provides the design with a very special charm.
