Rare and authentic saber sword, probably French, for dragon or light cavalry officer. The sword is original from the early 19th century (circa 1800) and is similar to those carried by French light cavalry officers during the Napoleonic era. Nevertheless, we cannot be sure of its precedence and could also be Spanish. The steel blade preserves some remains of the original acid-etched decoration, composed of symmetrical volutes and vegetal motifs. The anatomic hilt is made of paved metal and boasts an attractive dark-bronze shade. It is made of a single piece composed of a metal grip (with an engraved net motif), straight D-guard and curved quillon. For its ancient age and original quality, this rare saber sword (probably French) for dragon or light cavalry officer is an exclusive and charismatic piece. Dimensions: Blade Length: 31.89 in / 81 cm. Total Length: 37.01 in / 94 cm.
