Awesome sword for infantry officer model 1882, made in France and with a Klingenthal mark in the blade. This beautiful sword mounts a steel blade in excellent condition, with no traces of rust or wear, and a hilt made of the same metal. Close to the hilt the blade bears a mark with the Klingenthal word engraved by hand. The hilt is made of steel and includes a curved D-guard divided in four gorgeous branches welded to the cross-guard. It is a really beautiful design, with the shiny steel making a fine contrast with the dark solid-wooden grip. This piece preserves the original twisted wire in good condition. The steel scabbard comes with its original canvas sleeve with brown-leather reinforcements at the locket and the tip.
