Fantastic Cuban sidearm for Spanish infantry officer in Cuba, made in 1890 and in good condition. This historic piece was manufactured in Germany; in those days, some German sword manufacturers would forge this type of weapons in order to export them and sold them to the Spanish army in Cuba. The sidearm mounts an imposing steel blade (which was probably nickel-plated afterwards) in whose top part we can see the engraved manufacturers name and location: THEILE Y QUACK ELBERFELD GARANTIZADO, together with the number 938. The sidearm hilt is made of wood and bronze; the pommel is shaped as an eagles head and so are the crosss ends. The grip is made of dark solid wood. The scabbard which protects the blade is original from the time and is made of embossed leather, with steel locket and chappe. For its authenticity and its beauty, this Cuban sidearm for Spanish infantry officer in Cuba will shine as part of any great collection. Dimensions: Blade Length: 24.41 in / 63 cm. Total Length: 29.72 in / 75.5 cm.
