Antique German bayonet-sword model 1898 for the army of Peru, made circa 1900 and very rare. This is a remarkable piece for its excellent condition: the steel blade and hilt show a shiny and even surface, while the wooden grip and the scabbards leather body are greatly preserved. At the blade, just under the cross-guard we can see the manufacturers mark: SIMSON & CO SUHL; the cross-guard itself bears the engraved serial number 5470. The hilt mounts solid wooden grip plates, probably mahogany, attached with rivets. At the top, the grip is covered by a steel piece with the engraved coat of arms of Peru. The black leather scabbard is in great condition and keeps the original steel locket and chappe. As special as well preserved, this rare antique German bayonet-sword model 1898 for the army of Peru is a scary and gorgeous piece, worthy to belong to a self-respecting collector. Dimensions: Blade Length: 20.47 in / 52 cm. Total Length: 25.70 in / 65.5 cm.
