Antique French saber sword model 1822 for mounted artillery officer, made in France in the 19th century and in fine condition. This weapon has a fine steel blade with no decoration, well preserved and with a nice patina caused by many years of history and use. The blade is trimmed at the top by a beautiful hilt, with D-guard and cross-guard making up an only piece divided in branches. The metal is adorned with simple and fine vegetal-inspired engraved motifs which can be seen at the cross-guard, the D-guard and the pommel, creating a wraparound and uniform design. It is in good condition and makes a fine contrast with the black grooved grip, also well preserved. The metal scabbard is original from the time and shows clear signs of the trace of time, but still fulfills perfectly its protecting duty. This antique French saber model 1822 for mounted artillery officer is an old-time piece, stylish and sober. Dimensions: Blade Length: 34.25 in / 87 cm. Total Length: 40.55 in / 103 cm.
