Antique Spanish sword for line cavalry troops from the time of Charles IV, made in Spain in 1807 and in very good condition. The sword is model 1728, made entirely of steel, and is in excellent condition, except for a missing screw that does not affect it. It mounts a horse-mouth-type cross-guard, composed of two symmetrical pieces which close slightly over the grip. The hilt has tapered grip and curved quillons disposed in an only plane. The steel blade shows the marks R C IV on one of its sides, corresponding to the Spanish king Charles IV. In the other one we distinguish the inscription CA. DE LA. ( Line Cavalry), 1807, although the 8 of the year appears lined and Tº, corresponding to Toledo. The blade is finely preserved and shows no traces of rust nor dents. This antique Spanish sword for troops os line cavalry from the time of Charles IV stands out for its ancient age and stylish design, being an amazing inclusion for any collection.
