Antique hunting bayonet made in Toledo (Spain) in 1864.The blade is made of white metal and is decorated with beautiful acid-etched motives. They are floral symmetrical patterns, somewhat abstract in design, and they are accompanied by the inscription AÑO DE 1864 (year 1864) on one side of the blade, and FÁBRICA DE TOLEDO (Manufactured in Toledo) on the other. Both inscriptions are located in the rain-guard, by the grip. The grip is painted black and is has a curious cylindrical shape, meant to be inserted into the shotguns barrel. The blade is beveled on both sides, and is the most attractive part of the weapon because of its nice decoration. The bayonet comes in its original scabbard, made of hand-sewn leather with parts of metal. The bayonets cross-guard is made of gilded metal, which makes a nice contrast with the silvery metal of the blade. Both pieces make up an attractive set, whose ancient age turns it into a highly interesting item for any lover of antique weapons. The bayonet is in good condition and has no missing parts, being the perfect acquisition for a good collection of old Measurements: 340 mm length.
