Nice Spanish knife - dagger made in the middle of the 19th century. This is an elegant cold steel weapon small in size, with an unmistakable style typical of this type of pieces. The knife has a bone and brass grip, and both materials are combined to make a really beautiful design. This kind of knives was developed from the second half of the 18th century on. During the 19th century every man used to carry one. Their evolution resulted in the emergence of current navajas. This knife was made in Spain, probably in Albacete. The blade is made of steel and so is the cross, where the attractive hilt begins. The grip is made of bone and brass. Both ends are made of engraved brass, with fine decorative fringes performed with a stylus. They are composed of tiny points which form a design of intertwined waves; this pattern appears in various places. Between both ends, the central part of the grip is made of bone carved in the shape of longitudinal flutes. This part has a longitudinal narrow gap where we can see another zigzag-shaped and engraved brass piece.
