Fine and sober Spanish colonial defense dagger, forged in the 19th century. This is a slim and elegant weapon that comes in its original leather scabbard, something quite rare in this kind of pieces. The dagger has a carved grip with polished brass ferrules and carved cross-guard, made of the same material as the grip. The blade is made of steel and is very well preserved, boasting a simple and stylized design. In the rain guard we can see a fine engraved decoration adorning both sides, in the shape of a series of parallel short lines.Daggers are bladed weapons flat blade and sharp point. These pieces are usually double-edged weapons. This particular one is a defense dagger designed for the protection of the user. In the past, these weapons were also carried by women who could use them to defend themselves against attackers.
