Antique Kapsch & Söhne telegraphic relay made in Wien circa 1880. The relay is complete and stands on a mahogany solid wooden base, a beautiful and wonderfully preserved piece. The base bears milled edges and a lovely satin finish that enhances the good look of the red wood. The relays component parts are made of golden brass: they are also in good condition, with no traces of rust or wear. The rods for the copper coils are made of bakelite and bear inscriptions about the power (W) and the resistance (?) of the relay. The brass base bears the engraved logo of the manufacturing company, a circle containing the letters K&S. All the collectors of communications-related antiques will surely appreciate this fine antique relay.
