This awesome antique typewriter is an Ideal A made in Germany in the early 20th century. The machine is in really good condition and works fine: it can be perfectly used to type documents. It is also a charming and decorative piece. Ideal typewriters started being produced in 1900. They were manufactured by Seidel & Neumann, a factory located in Dresden, Germany that used to make sewing machines and bicycles. There were four subsequent models of the Ideal A: the one that we can see in these images is the Ideal A3. These typewriters are highly appreciated for their stunning look, with the logo molded into the cast-iron sides in a nice filigree design. All the Ideal typewriters are bulky and heavy and can reach a weigh of 17 kg. This particular model boasts an excellent condition. It has a black-enameled cast-iron body with gold-painted side decals. It still preserves the original decoration with golden and blue lines. The golden and blue logos printed over the keyboard and the carriage are in amazing condition too. At the top of the typewriter we can see a small metal plate attached to the iron body with name of the shop where the machine was originally purchased. The keyboard, composed of black round keys with nickel-plated rings, is complete and fully functional. This striking Ideal A3 typewriter deserves to shine in the collection of a museum of technology.
