Smart Woodstock No. 4 Typewriter Made in the United States in 1916. This machine is a solid and versatile model that has survived to our days in excellent condition and working order. Although it is almost one hundred years old, this vintage typewriter can be used to type documents. The black enameled finish is very well preserved and so is the printed golden decal and inscriptions. All the typewriters parts are original and work fluidly and efficiently.The first Woodstock (No. 3) appeared in the market in 1914 and it was only produced for one year until the Woodstock No. 4 was launched. The company that commercialized it formed from the failed Emerson Typewriter Company, bought by Sears-Roebuck. Alvah C. Roebuck became then the president of the company and designed a completely new typewriter, whose success relaunched the firm under the name of Woodstock Typewriter Company. The designs success kept on during the Great Depression and even later. In 1950, R. C. Allen Business Machines bought the firm and kept on producing Woodstock typewriters.This particular typewriter is in striking condition and keeps its practical beauty intact. Over the carriage we can see the attractive brands decal printed in the paper table in neat golden lettering. This inscription is in amazing condition, as if years had no passed by. At the rear we find again the companys name over a smart label with the successive patents of this particular model. On the other hand, at the front we can see an ink color selector (to the right); this feature indicates that this typewriter is an evolution from the first models which did not include this detail. The keyboard is composed of round keys with white background and silvery metal ring: it is in perfect condition and looks simple and stylish.This lovely vintage typewriter boasts a timeless and quality design. It will surely be the perfect complement for an elegant study.
