This fine typewriter is a real museum piece because of its beauty, good condition and old age. It is a Stoewer Elite made in Germany in 1925. In spite of being quite old, the typewriter has survived to our days in great condition and provides an excellent working order. The machine boasts a solid and simple design, quite attractive and reliable. The body is made of black-enameled iron and the keyboard is composed of white keys with black symbols. These pieces bear the classic nickel-plated rings that reinforce and adorn them.Stoewer typewriter are renowned because of their magnificent making, being at or above the State of the Art in their field. In fact, these pieces were never mass produced and always kept the highest manufacturing quality. The firm was founded in 1857 and closed its doors in 1945. In 1896, Stoewer divided into two independent companies, both of which bore the same familiar name: one concentrated on sewing machines, typewriters and bicycles, and the other on cars, trucks and buses.The model we can see in these images bears the words STOEWER ELITE, big in size and printed in gold and blue in the black background. Printed in the paper-holder, just over the carriage, we can also see this inscription though in a different lettering. Both inscriptions are in optimal conditions; they are very decorative details. At the top of the machine, on both sides of the key levers we can see printed motives depicting four golden medals each. At the back there is a metal plate with serial number E 100173.Any lover of vintage typewriters will find in this Stoewer Elite a piece perfect to become part of his or her collection.
