This great looking and functional vintage typewriter is a Senta, a rare and special model that stands out because of its beautiful making. This piece was made in Germany in the 1920s and is a portable machine in quite good condition. The typewriter works perfectly and can be used to type documents. It comes in its original suitcase, made of light golden-colored wood with deeply marked veneer. The case keeps the original metal and wooden handle, and also the lock and the key. Senta portable typewriters are noted for this beautiful design, portable and comfortable. They were manufactured by Frister & Rossman (F&R), a sewing machine producer. The portable three-bank double shift Senta was designed by Frand Kraudzun and started being commercialized in 1913. The last models were produced in 1926, when a new four-bank design substituted the original one. In this particular typewriter, the companys name can be seen printed in golden lettering just over the keyboard: FRISTER & ROSSMAN AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT BERLIN. The same inscription is printed in black lettering in the wooden cover. As stated before, the typewriter has a three-bank keyboard with big round keys. The keys background is black and the letters are golden, with the classic metal ring framing and reinforcing the pieces. The article is in good condition: the black-enameled finish is well preserved and shows only small scratches at the back. The typewriter is attached to the wooden base with two screws that can be easily removed in order to separate the machine from the plank and use it by itself. This lovely Senta typewriter is a collectors piece, quite attractive and fully functional. It will shine in any classy study.
