Stunning German Adler 15 typewriter in very good condition and working wonderfully. This typewriter is really ancient: it was made more than one hundred years ago. In spite of its old age, the machine preserves all its beauty and functionality and can be used to type documents. It boasts a curiously modern design with straight lines and curved corners, and is quite a big machine. At the top of the typewriter we can see the printed brand name, ADLER, and also the manufacturers name and the beautiful logo: ADLERWERKE VORM. HEINRICH KLEYER A.G. FRANKFURT A/M. Adler typewriters appeared in 1898; the first model was the Adler 7, designed by the US inventor Wellington Parker Kidder and commercialized in Germany. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries the company grew and launched different Adler models, including a small portable version. The Alder 15 that we can see in these images was commercialized between 1909 and 1923. Nowadays the company still exists under the Triumph-Adler name. The typewriters name and logo are clearly preserved, printed in a fine golden lettering and with a slim turquoise line. The black lacquer that covers the iron case is also in good condition, quite shiny and even. The keyboard is composed of black bakelite pieces with white symbols; the keys are in optimal condition and work fine. The typewriter stands on a solid pinewood base with soft edges and a nice walnut-color finish. This typewriter is a witness to history, a real museum piece with a gorgeous look and in wonderful condition.
