Beautiful Triumph typewriter in strikingly good condition and wonderful working order. This piece was manufactured in Germany in the early 20th century (circa 1911) and is still working perfectly. The mechanism has been carefully checked and oiled so it is easy to type documents with legible and clear results. This machine stands out because of its functionality but also for its imposing presence: it boasts a compact and solid design, decorative and nice. The original lacquered finish is very well preserved and so are the fine decals and inscriptions. At the top of the typewriter, just over the carriage we can see the brand name printed in golden lettering: Triumph. This German company was founded by Siegfried Bettman in Nuremberg in 1896. Its full name was Deutsche Triumph Fahrradwerke Aktiengesellschaft: it was a subsidiary plant of the English Triumph Cycle Company that manufactured cars and motorbikes. In 1909 the firm acquires an outdated typewriter factory and creates the Norica model; shortly after the Triumph 1 is launched, a model with state-of-art technology. In 1911 the firm gets its definite name, Triumph Werke Nürmberg AG, and in 1913 they separate from the British parent company. Nowadays it is still active under the Triumph-Adler market name. This lovely typewriter is a slightly evolved version of the Triumph 1 in excellent condition. It has a black-lacquered cast-iron body with side and rear openings. The machine preserves two gorgeous decals printed on both sides over the key boards, circular in shape and in magnificent condition. Under the keyboard we can read the companys name; the first word is erased, but the decal is almost complete. The keyboard is composed of circular pieces with black background and ochre symbols. The keys bear the classic nickel-plated reinforcement ring. Its awesome condition and working order show clearly the high quality of this amazing Triumph typewriter, a piece that cannot be missing in a good collection.
