This gorgeous typewriter, with its surprisingly contemporary design and very well preserved, is a Rheinita Record made in 1932 in Sömmerda, Germany. The typewriter draws powerfully our attention because of its great condition, almost impeccable and worthy of a museum. It is a compact design with soft curvy shapes, decorated with fine golden decals much to the taste of the 1930s. It has black-lacquered cast-iron body with side and rear openings. The mechanism has been fine-tuned and oiled so nowadays the typewriter works greatly. Just over the carriage we can see the models name, RHEINITA RECORD, clearly printed on the black background. These typewriters were made in 1932; the manufacturer was the German company Rheinmetall. Their production coincided with the Rheinmetall 9 typewriter, more complete and functional and with wooden cover. The Rheinita Record was a simpler and more compact version that nevertheless provides a great comfort and an insuperable operation. At the front of the machine we can see the inscription RHEINMETALL SOEMMERDA printed in golden lettering: the companys name and the city where the factory was located. On top of the mentioned inscription there is a blue and golden mark with the name of the original German distributor. At the back of the typewriter there is another golden logo, elegant and big. One of the iron component parts bears the engraved serial number 39076. Last but not least, the keyboard is composed of circular pieces with black background and light-toned symbols, with nickel-plated reinforcement rings and in perfect working order. This German typewriter is a real collectors piece for its great design and excellent performance.
