Amazing Ideal C typewriter with lacquered cast-iron body, in quite good condition and in working order. This lovely machine was made in Germany around 1919 and still preserves all its original component parts. It is a singularly decorative and functional piece, worthy of becoming part of a museum of turn-of-the-century machines. The typewriter boasts a solid, compact and classic designs, with side and rear openings that let us see the inner mechanism. It is in an almost impeccable condition in spite of being nearly one hundred years old. Over the carriage we can see a decal with the brand name, Ideal, printed in fine golden lettering. At the front of the typewriter, over the keyboard and to the right there is a printed medal with the letters SN, corresponding to Seidel & Neumann. This was the name of the German factory that assumed the production of the Ideal typewriter, designed by the American inventors E.E. Barney and Frank Tanner in the late 19th century. It was a bicycle and sewing machines factory that launched the first Ideal typewriter in 1900. The original Ideal A was followed by different versions, among them the Ideal C that we can see in these images. Under the keyboard we can also see the complete manufacturers name in golden lettering. The QWERTZ keyboard is composes or circular keys with white background and black symbols, reinforced by the classic nickel-plated rings. To the left and over the keyboard we can see a small metal plate with the name of the shop where the typewriter was originally sold. Because of its reliability, ancient age and attractive look, this Ideal C typewriter is a real collectors piece.
