Beautiful Ideal Model A Typewriter from the year 1900. Undoubtedly this is an aesthetically very beautiful machine. This piece clearly follows the Modernist Style of the time. Black metallic case of beautiful workmanship, in which undoubtedly highlights the letters and the logo of the well-known brand. The beautiful decorations elaborated on the lateral cast iron panels with the logo of the brand molded on them are striking. The beautiful yellow lacquered lettering follows the parameters of the style with naturalistic and sinuous elements. The black keys have signs of use on the most used ones, something that does not detract from the beauty of the piece. These devices arose from the need to help people suffering from blindness to read and write, and it was not until 1873 when the first typewriters appeared, capable of revolutionizing the world of work, at first the typewriter had a decoration similar to sewing machines and the carriage was retracted by operating a pedal similar to the latter. From the end of the 19th century and during a good part of the 20th century, typewriters were indispensable tools in commercial offices, as well as for almost all professional writers. There were 4 models of the A Ideal, with various technical modifications between them. The A1 and A2 had refined molded side panels and the later A3 and A4 models were even more detailed in the side trim as seen in this example. The Modernist style of the late 19th and early 20th century will affect the decorative arts in particular. Sinuous and naturalistic shapes are tried to reach all kinds of pieces, hence it is so marked in this piece. Beautiful and particular typewriter with a perfectly defined Modernist style makes it one of the most decorative.
