Beautiful typewriter manufactured by the prestigious Underwood brand, Model No. 13. Made in 1912, is a great example of the models of the early twentieth century. Its elegant design, with open windows in the rear and sides, lets us see from outside the complex machinery that makes it work. The gears have been thoroughly cleaned and oiled, making the machine run perfectly, just like the first day. To its functionality and beauty we add the presence of the attractive Underwood logo, which is printed in different parts of the machine: in the front under the keyboard; in the area over it, and near the cart.Although the inscriptions and some parts of the machine show slight signs of wear, it is not surprising given its age and usage. In fact, these are details that contribute to the charm and authenticity of this beautiful office antique. The black metal finish is well preserved, and so are the screws and the mechanism. Special attention deserves the keyboard of the machine, composed of delicate bone-colored pieces and black letters, each surrounded by a thin metal crown. At the back of the machine we can find again the Underwood brand name, engraved in gold. Under the letters there is an inscription in the same color, slightly worn but perfectly legible, which provides details on the brand and the place of manufacture of the typewriter. Certain details like the condition of the ribbon, or the delicate mechanism used to change the colors of the text (top right), attest to the beauty and authenticity of this machine, a true classic of the twentieth century that the best collectors may not fail to appreciate.
