This beautiful Underwood typewriter, manufactured in 1920, is a faithful representative of the style of office machines made at the time. Its elegancy comes along with the presence of beautiful logo with the company name on the front of the machine, which is accompanied by an art déco filigree. The whole decoration is in two colors (blue and gold), which provides a special interest to this beautiful piece. The machine is elegant and complex. It has three windows or holes in the sides and rear, through which we cansee the gears and mechanisms that make it work. The machine is in good condition, except for some signs of wear. The black enamel shows friction in parts (sides and front, under the keyboard), but these are only minor details that do not compromise the overall aesthetics and authenticity of the whole. If anything, they only increase its value and charm, as they show the passage of time. They also recall the days when the machine was an object of everyday use. The keyboard is composed of round pieces with black background and white letters, surrounded (as usual) by a thin golden crown. For the most part they are in good condition, except for some signs of rust. On the front, under the Underwood logo (which appears charmingly cracked) we can distinguish a metal plate in silver and black enamel, which probably shows the name and phone number of a distributor at the time. On the rear, under the window that lets us see the mechanism, there is a list of patents for the machine with their dates, in gold letters. Overall, this typewriter is a magnificent office antiquity, which wikk certainly glow in the case of any lover of the special pieces.
