Olivetti Valentine Typewriter made in 1969, following the popular design that Italian architect Ettore Sottsas created for the prestigious Italian company. This typewriter is perfectly preserved, both the machine and the plastic case, and works like new. The Olivetti Valentine model is nowadays one of the icons of contemporary design, to the extent that there is a Valentine typewriter in the MOMA of New York. Ettore Sottsass intended to create a functional and easy-to-use typewriter, which was also portable, light and bore a stunning look. So he designed a red typewriter with a light case of the same color. The Olivetti Valentine typewriter was cheap and light, and all these features turned it into a real success and became one of the Italian designers best achievements. This typewriter is practically new and works like the first day of use. It comes with its original case, also made of bright red plastic. The case is complete and keeps the black elastic shutting devices which hold the machine when it is into the case, so it cannot be removed. The overall design is smart and simple: the machine is put into the case with the rear up, the shutting devices are adjusted and the user can carry it thanks to the handle at the rear, which remains uncovered. The excellent condition of this beautiful typewriter is highly remarkable, especially if we consider that it is more than thirty years since it was made. It is almost new and its design is in no way obsolete. The red plastic shines like new and the keyboard is complete, showing all its elegant black and white keys in excellent condition. The rest of the components, a hundred per cent original, also work softly and fluently so the typewriter can be used and enjoyed. We are undoubtedly looking at an original Olivetti Valentine typewriter, an icon of contemporary design which will stand out in the most stylish room, study or house thanks to its great vintage look.
