Decorative LC Smith 8-10 typewriter from 1915. Aesthetically, the machine is in very good condition, but it does not work and we have not been able to find out what is wrong with it. In any case, for its aesthetics and style, it is a magnificent display piece. Composed of a black metallic casing, it has the brand name printed in cream both on the carriage, on the top of the letters and on the back. It has all the keys, with signs of use that show its age, but make it very beautiful aesthetically. These types of objects are most laborious and sophisticated in their production. It is curious that this type of machines arose from the need to help people who suffered from blindness, so that they could read and write, and it would not be until 1873 when the first typewriters capable of revolutionizing the working world of many people appeared. The Smith Premier Typewriter Company created the first machine that allowed the use of both uppercase and lowercase letters in 1886, and years later, in 1906, it would create its first portable typewriter, which had an incredible sales success. Ideal piece to decorate on its own, as it is a very beautiful model.
