Antique Mercedes Mod. 5 typewriter coming from Germany and dated in the 30's of the 20th century. The machine combines beauty and functionality with efficiency, and is in excellent condition. The black enamel that covers the body, as well as the keyboard and the moving parts, is in good condition. Mechanically the machine works perfectly, although the belt is somewhat worn and it would be convenient to change it for a new one if you want to use it for typing documents. The enameled iron body has side and rear openings that create an attractive design and lighten the weight of the machine. As we mentioned, the enamel finish is in superb condition: shiny, smooth and even. The brand name stands out against the black background, printed in white letters above the carriage and in gold letters above the keyboard. Here we can also see the model number, 5. Mercedes Bureau-Maschinen GmbH was founded in 1906 and not only marketed typewriters: its electric and electronic calculators are considered pioneers of today's computers. The keyboard of the machine is German and consists of white parts with black symbols, reinforced with silver metal rings. All keys work well and are perfectly legible. Even the space bar retains its black paint, which is unusual for antique typewriters.
