Antique Bar-Let Mod. 2 Typewriter. England, 1920's

Antique Bar-Let Mod. 2 typewriter with original accessories and instruction booklet. The machine is of English production and dates from the 1920s. Despite being nearly a century old, it is shown in a magnificent state of preservation and works perfectly. It is presented with the original cover-cover, provided with a handle for transport. Inside the case we find an oil applicator to grease the mechanism and a brush for cleaning, as well as a leaflet with instructions for operating the machine in English. The accessories and the booklet are also in excellent condition. The machine is striking for its compact and modern design, lighter and simpler than the classic models of the time. Being a portable model, it is smaller in size and lighter in weight. The cast iron housing has a glossy black enamel finish, in superb condition. The enamel is smooth and even, shining like the first day. On the carriage we can see the name of the model, BAR-LET, printed in clear gold letters and accompanied by a beautiful color coat of arms. On the front, under the keyboard, we find the model (Model 2) also in gold lettering. Also on the keyboard is the inscription MADE IN NOTTINGHAM - ENGLAND. The keyboard is made up of black pieces with white symbols. All the keys still have the metal reinforcement ring and work perfectly: the machine types beautifully and can be used to type any document. The cloth-covered lid for protecting and transporting the typewriter is also in good condition, although it shows some signs of wear on the handle and latch. It retains the original lock and key in working order. The instruction booklet remains guarded in an internal compartment, marked by a paper label. Precious and functional, this antique Bar-Let Mod. 2 typewriter is an original vintage piece, with all the charm of turn-of-the-century office supplies.
