Titania Model 3 Typewriter. Antique. Germany. 1916

Antique Titania Typewriter model 3, made in Germany in 1916 and in good working order. The typewriter is well preserved, though due to its ancient age (it is more than one hundred years old) it shows the logical signs of wear produced by the trace of time and the use. This signs, however, provide it with real charm and authenticity. The typing mechanism has been cleaned and overhauled, so today the typewriter can be used to type documents. This piece shows of a sober and sturdy design, a real old-time classic with a great decorative power. The typewriters body is made of black-enameled cast iron and has side, front and rear openings which make it lighter and let us see the mechanism. At the top, over the carriage we can see the brand name TITANIA in big golden lettering. The inscription is somewhat worn but the name is still perfectly readable. The enameled finish below is crackled but remains complete. The typewriter mounts German keyboard composed of circular keys with White background and black symbols. All of them preserve the silvery-metal reinforcement ring, classic of ancient typewriters. They all remain in good working order and move fluidly, typing clear and neat symbols. The spacebars black paint is worn by the use but this piece still fulfills its duty. The chromed-metal mobile component parts are also in good condition and are the icing of the cake of a very decorative and functional piece. This antique Titania typewriter model 3 is the perfect item to decorate a bookcase, a desk or a living room.
