Antique Hispano Olivetti Studio 46 typewriter made in Spain in the 1950s, in good condition and with a gorgeous design. This machine, a real mid-20th-century classic, comes in its original storing suitcase and is in perfect working order. The suitcase is covered by an adhesive vinyl that was fixed decades ago, but it is still the original one. Inside we find the typewriter, a great-looking piece whose designs mirrors the elegant simplicity of lines which characterizes the machines produced by the famous brand. The typewriters body is made of metal and is painted in a fine matt black paint, attractive and original. The painted finish is well preserved and only shows some signs of wear at the front, just under the keyboard. This is a Spanish keyboard compose of black circular keys with metal reinforcement rings and white symbols and letters, perfectly legible. The keyboard works perfectly so the typewriter can be used to type documents. Over the keyboard we can see an inscription with the manufacturing companys name and city (Barcelona) and the model, Studio 46. C. Olivetti & C.S.p.A. in Ivrea, Italy, in 1908. The factory occupied a space of 500 square meters and employed a sum of 15 workers, and was able to produce an average of 20 typewriters a week. The first model launched was the M1 which was introduced in the Universal Exposition that took place in Torino in 1911. From then on the company grew rapidly and started to diversify its offer, opening branches in different places all around the world. In the following years Olivetti also manufactured calculators, printers, computers, etc., as well as office furniture and equipment. The company settled in Barcelona, Spain in 1929 under the name Hispano Olivetti.
