Decorative and sturdy Stoewer Record typewriter made in Germany in 1921. This beautiful machine is almost a museum piece because of its attractive design and ancient age. The piece is very well preserved and works perfectly, fluidly and typing legibly. Its structure with open sides and rear lets us watch the inner mechanism, highly complex and precise.Stoewer brand started in 1858, when Bernhard Stoewer founded a sewing machine company under the name of Nähmascinenfabrik Bernahard Stoewer A.G. In 1893 the company started manufacturing cycles and in 1903 the first typewriters were produced and launched. One of the most peculiar features of Stoewer typewriters is that they do not include a back-space key but a level for this function. This piece is located on the front right side of the typewriters. This particular typewriter has the mentioned lever, made of shiny chromed metal. The front is decorated with a slim golden line that frames the typewriters name, STOEWER RECORD, printed in golden lettering with an elegant blue shadow. Just over the carriage we can see again the word STOEWER with an inscription detailing the different German cities where the company had its branch offices. At the rear we can also find a small silvery plate screwed to the iron frame with the engraved serial number. This striking Stoewer record typewriter is a real testimony of past times. Its wonderful look turns it into a highly decorative piece that will shine in any living room or study.
