This extremely beautiful wall clock, bound to preside a smart living room, comes from Germany and was manufactured in the late 19th century. In spite of being quite old (more than one hundred years), the clock is in great condition. Its movement is signed with the logo of the prestigious brand Kienzle, and has been fully revised and adjusted so the clock works like the first day, chiming the hours and the halves. The boxs design corresponds to the neoclassic aesthetic that prevailed in those times, with a nice combination of wood veneers that turn this clock into a really attractive article. The clocks movement bears the Kienzle logo, a winged wheel, engraved in the metal. Kienzle is one of Germanys oldest watchmakers; it was founded in Schwenningen in 1822 by the Schlenker family, though it was later renamed as Schlenker & Kienzle when in 1883 Jakob Kienzle married into the family, contributing to the expansion of the company to a great extent. For more than one century Kienzle has manufactured amazing watches of all kind, among them wonderful wall clocks such as the one we are talking about. The firm is currently established in Hamburg. This particular clock is made of solid wood, with the front planks covered of walnut veneers that make up a nice diamond design (frisage). The box is embellished with some hand-carved and turned pieces that increase its beauty: two twin columns that frame the glass door, several turned pieces and a small classic carved figurehead at the top. The watchs face is made of hand-engraved brass, enameled in white and with black Roman numbers; the movement is located behind it and from it hangs the original pendulum bob. The movement bears different inscriptions, the most remarkable being the Kienzle logo, the serial number 55006, the initials D.R.P. and another serial number with the first cipher partially erased: 8281. This gorgeous wall clock is perfect to decorate a great classy living room, which it will embellish with its presence and sound. Measurements: Width: 12.4 in/31-5 cm. Height: 31 in/94 cm.
