This elegant and ancient wall clock is made of solid wood and shows a great condition and working order. It was made by Junghans in the beginning of the 20th century, specifically circa 1900. Junghans watchmaking company is one of the oldest and most prestigious brands in the world. It was founded by Erhard Junghans in Germany in 1861, and since then the company has been investigating and innovating. For example, in 1971 a Junghans chronometer took the first photo-finish accurate to a hundredth of a second in the Olympic Games which took place in Munich. Nowadays it is still a leader brand in the field of watch and chronometer making. This wall clock is made of solid wood, and many parts are made of mahogany wood. The French polish finish it bears provides the wood with a warm and deep glow. The two shapely side pillars, slim and stylized, are especially remarkable, and so is the carved top with a floral motive and elegant bulb-shaped details. The white face with black Roman numbers bears the star shaped logo of the brand with the name and the initial inside. It has also two lovely black metal needles with openwork pointers. The pendulum bob is made of brass, like the mechanism and the original winding key. The clock works perfectly, chiming the hours and the halves with a clean deep sound. The mechanism has been cleaned and adjusted. The device designed to attach the mechanism to the wooden box is especially remarkable, being made of brass and engraved with floral motives. In the mechanism we can see the logo of the brand engraved in the metal, which guarantees that this clock is a hundred per cent original. One more detail which provides this clock with even more interest, becoming a piece which is bound to embellish the most elegant houses wall. Measurements: 350 mm width x 960 mm height.
