Antique Pendulum Wall Clock. Black Forest. Vienna, S. XIX

Striking antique wall clock fully made of hand-carved wood and in excellent condition. The clock mounts a Vienna-Type movement (with weights) and is a Black Forest style model, with solid wooden box and in perfect working order. The clocks movement has been fully revised, cleaned and overhauled; today it shows off a great performance. The wooden box is really impressive: it has carefully hand-carved to the last detail, creating such a singular and theatrical effect that turns the clock into a greatly charismatic piece. The clocks box is made of two types of wood. The part containing the movement is made of reddish wood; this light and warm color makes a nice contrast with the darker carved part and the shiny weights. But surely the most outstanding part of the box is its front side: the glass door bears a wonderful dark wooden frame, completely decorated with carved vegetal motives. Crowning the clock there is a small canopy with a deers head in front, performed with singular realism. The rest of the door frame is decorated with vegetal motives: oak leaves, acorns, slim interlaced branches The natural and ethereal effect created by this wonderful carving work provides the clock with a very original charm. On the other hand, the clocks face is made of white-enameled metal and bears black Roman numbers. It is very well preserved too. Below the face we can see the two weighs and the pendulum bob, golden and shiny. Inside the clock, the movement bears the engraved serial number 35719. For its original design and overwhelming presence, this wonderful antique all clock will stand out in a classy living room. Measurements: Width: 19.6 in / 50 cm. Height: 55.1 in / 140 cm.
