Antique French Wall Clock Morez Type from the 19th century. It is composed of a beautiful square top case topped with a bronze top half-circumference decorated with a popular scene. There is a beautiful scene in low relief where a girl on the left gives a basket to a man on a cart pulled by a pack animal, in what appears to be a harvesting scene. The magnificent signed alabaster dial with blue and white enamel Roman hour numerals is topped at the corners with delicate vegetal decoration. The metal hands are finely openworked with stylized vegetal scrolls. The two weights and the curious lyre pendulum hang decoratively from the case. The pendulum, which alternates golden and silver color in its rods, appears completely decorated with vegetal and floral forms that reach the lentil. It has an hour and half-hour chime. It is in perfect conditions of conservation and operation, with the revision done and ready to make it work. All parts are original and the original key is included. The first domestic clocks were the wall clocks moved with weights, which generally lasted 30 hours, but later, in the 17th century, the spring mechanism would appear, which caused the real revolution in the world of clocks, since it allowed continuous operation for eight days. This type of clocks were characterized by round dials and the body extended downwards, but the decoration varied greatly from one country to another. Beautiful and original clock that transports you to the past with each of its chimes. Measures: 28 x 15 x 41 cm (case); 31 c (lens diameter); 1.44 m (total height).
