Striking French Wall Clock from 1890, fully restored and adjusted and in perfect working order. This smart clock chimes the hours and the halves and is in excellent condition. It has a very attractive box with a lot of decorative details, all of them original. It is made of solid wood of different kind such as oak, walnut and beech. Some pieces are made of lighter wood and have been dyed in a nice golden brown color in order to even up the whole surface and provide it with harmony. The wood has a warm French polish finish, fit to enhance its tone and veneer and that gives the smart clock a nice satin shine.The carved and turned wooden details that enhance the clocks beautiful look are mostly responsible for its attractive. The two columns that adorn the front are very remarkable with their hand-carved tops depicting nice vegetal designs. The lovely piece that crowns the box is another appealing feature. Nevertheless, the details that most grab our attention are the brass decorative pieces that embellish the whole front surface. There is a delicate lions head at the top and several classical pieces scattered about the clocks front, all of them symmetrically distributed.The clocks movement is also the original one and is wonderfully preserved. The enameled brass face has a lovely modernist design in the center, embossed in the metal. The movement has also the serial number engraved in the metal: 43860. The clock keeps the original winding key and the fine hand-engraved pendulum bob.
